Every Student Matters. Every Moment Counts.

Phlebotomy

Phlebotomy

Students learn blood collection techniques, including venipuncture and proper order of draw, along with basic anatomy, collection equipment, patient communication, and accurate specimen documentation. The program emphasizes safe blood collection, proper specimen handling, and hands-on practice to prepare students for phlebotomy certification and entry-level employment in healthcare settings.

If students complete both the Phlebotomy and Medical Lab Assisant programs at the RDP, they will be awarded two short-term certificates from Calhoun.
