Dental Assisting

Summary 

Students gain hands-on clinical experience while learning to assist dentists during procedures, support patient care, sterilize instruments, perform dental radiology tasks, and manage administrative responsibilities in dental settings. The program develops essential clinical, technical, and workplace skills and prepares students for employment in dental offices and related healthcare facilities, as well as the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) exam through the  Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).

Classes 

Recommended Four Year Plan: 

9th: English 9, Geometry, Biology, World History, Career Prep, Physical Education Elective / Summer: Possible Credit Advancement (Science Recommended)

10th: English 10, Algebra 1, Physical Science, US History 10, Health and Driver’s Ed, Elective x 2 / Summer: English 11, US History 11

11th: English 101 (Fall), Algebra 2, Government and Economics, MTH 100 (Spring), Science, 2nd Science / Summer: Begin DAT Program

12th: Students will spend the majority of their day at the RDP and/or clinicals. Students will not be on their home campus for classes.
