Practical Nursing

Summary 

Students gain hands-on clinical experience and learn to provide patient care in a variety of healthcare settings under the supervision of physicians and registered nurses. The program develops essential nursing, clinical, and patient care skills and prepares students for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) through the National Council Licensure Exination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). 

Classes 

Recommended Four Year Plan: 

9th: English 9, Geometry, Biology, World History, Career Prep, Physical Education Elective

10th: English 10, Algebra I, Physical Science or Chemistry, US History 10, SPH 106 (Fall)/PSY 210 (Spring), Health/Driver’s Ed / Summer: BIO 201 and BIO 202, US History 11

11th: English 11, Algebra 2, Government and Economics, ENG 101 (Fall), MTH 100 (Spring), CNA/NST at the RDP - 2 periods / Summer: Begin LPN Program

12th: Students will spend the majority of their day at the RDP and/or clinicals. Students will not be on their home campus for classes.
